Former Chief Executive - The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco)

Faisal Al Mahroos has over 33 years experience, mostly in oil and gas field management, and also in energy planning. He is responsible for managing Bapco’s oil and gas assets that include Exploration, Drilling, Production and Reservoir Engineering, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Gas Utilization and Sales, Refining, Crude and Petroleum Products Marketing and Trading (Local, International and Aviation), Oil Export and Storage. This encompasses the responsibility of Bapco as state‐owned company in the hydrocarbon sector.

Mr. Al Mahroos graduated from the University of Cairo (Egypt), in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining and Petroleum, from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1979.

Joined BAPCO in 1976 and he has been proud to be able to progress through the upstream and energy planning areas of the oil Industry and now to be the Chief Executive of the whole industry, leading Bapco forward with innovative joint ventures to secure the future of the oil industry within the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mr. Al Mahroos is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He is the Founder of Arabian Petroleum Association, Middle East Petroleum Prospects Exhibition “MEPEX” and Society of Petroleum Engineers Bahrain Chapter.
