Chairman

Almoayed Wilhelmsen Ltd. Dr. Tawfeeq Almoayed is the Chairman of T.A. Almoayed & Sons W.L.L. and Almoayed Wilhelmsen Ltd.

He is also the Vice Chairman of Dana Gas PJSC, UAE and A.K. Almoayed Group W.L.L. In addition, he serves on the Board of Kimberly Clark Holding Company.

He is recognized as a partner, co-investor and strategic advisor to regional and internal multinationals operating in the Gulf Cooperative Council States.

Through numerous positions in his professional career, he has developed extensive expertise in the intricacies of successfully doing business in the Middle East. His working experience ranges from petrochemical to telecom and consultancy to shipping. He started his career as Engineering Manager for the Gulf Region, Cable & Wireless, Bahrain in 1974. He was the Founding Chairman and Managing Director of Gulf Petro-Chemical Industries Company (GPIC) in Bahrain and First Deputy Chairman of Bahrain Telecommunication Company (BATELCO).

Dr. Almoayed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with First Class Honour, and a PhD in Telecommunications from London University. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology of the United Kingdom.

Ørjan Johansen
Vice Chairman

Ørjan Johansen is the newly appointed Vice-Chairman of Almoayed Wilhelmsen Ltd. With 20 years’ experience from the Wilhelmsen group, Ørjan brings with him far-reaching insight into commercial shipping and trade. A Norwegian native, he has spent most of his life abroad. He started his career in Wilhelmsen Lines in 1993, as a sales representative in Chicago. After four years in the States, he served as a Commercial Manager for one year back in Norway in 1997, before venturing out to take on the role as Head of South East Asia for Wilhelmsen Lines. In 2000, he became General Manager in Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) Asia, based in Tokyo. In 2005, he was appointed Vice President in WWL Europe stationed in Stockholm.

Since 2007, he has been Head of International Business department at EUKOR Car Carriers in Seoul focusing on marketing, sales strategy, management of overseas offices, agents, contracting.

Ørjan holds a Bachelor from the Norwegian School of anagement and an MBA from the Monterey Institute, California, USA.
